June and I were proud to represent The Royal St. George's Society last night at the Charitable Irish 224th Annual Dinner.
We were seated with the presidents of the other societies and the Most Reverend Anthony Mancini, Archbishop of Halifax.
The meal consisted of Homemade Irish Whiskey Soda Bread, Roasted Carrot Bisque with Boxty Dumplings, Clover Honey Salmon followed by Meyer Lemon Tart.
The energetic entertainment was provided by The Greene School of Irish Dancing. Their costumes were truly amazing with iridescent dresses and head-dresses and the standard of the dancing was world class.
At the event I had the opportunity to further discuss my vision of our societies having joint events for the benefit of all our membership, to strengthen ties and to have a greater variety of events to attend. This was enthusiastically received and I shall be developing the contacts going forward and making sure Royal St. George plays a lead role.
We look forward to hosting the presidents of the other societies at our Annual Dinner on the 23rd April.
